Carbon Block

5 micron / 1 Micron / 0.5 Micron Giardia, Cryptosporidium Safe, 0.5 Micron Lead Reduction

Carbon block filters are usually used for more thorough filtration because they do not allow any bypass
You can choose from a variety of micron ratings from 0.5 micron (for giardia, cryptosporidium, and other microorganism removal)

Specialty

KDF/Carbon

Contains KDF, a patented filteration medium
Reduces contaminants using an electrochemical reduction/oxidation process, including chlorine, iron, lead, arsenic, aluminium, mercury, and cadmium
Creates a bacteriostatic environment within the filter

Ion exchange (Resin/Carbon, 100% Mixed Bed Resin)

Eliminates contaminants using ion-exchange demineralisation
Removes up to 99% of fluoride, copper, lead, most other heavy metals, and dissolved solids
Resin/carbon dual cartridge with 80% resin and 20% carbon can remove chlorine and organic chemicals as well as fluoride and heavy metals

Polyphosphate/Carbon

Ideal for coffee machine use
Carbon removes chemical smell and taste, while polyphosphate prevents scale buildup wihtin coffee machines resulting in less service needs

Doulton Ceramic/Carbon

The Royal Doulton Ultracarb features a Sterasyl microfilter, a carbon block core and finally, heavy metal removal media.
It is a highly efficient ceramic micro filter which provides genuine sub micron filtration. In addition to fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts and turbidity are removed to a high level of efficiency. The incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure inhibits the growth of bacteria and gives the cartridge enhanced bacteriostatic and self-sterilising properties.
